Through the Northern Birthday Box Project, Greenwin Cares supports children living in remote northern communities—many of them Indigenous—by helping bring birthday celebrations to life where access to party supplies and special treats can be limited.
This month, we are excited to celebrate Dylan, who turns 7 on August 15.
Dylan is from Baker Lake, a hamlet in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut, located on mainland Canada. Situated on the shore of the community’s namesake lake, Baker Lake is notable for being Nunavut’s only inland community.
For his celebration, Dylan selected a Minecraft-themed birthday. His box includes a variety of treats, such as chocolates, candies, cake mix, and icing, along with festive items to help bring his chosen theme to life and make the occasion extra special.
The Northern Birthday Box Project goes beyond delivering gifts—it is about creating meaningful connections, honouring each child’s birthday, and nurturing a sense of community despite the distance. Every child deserves to feel seen and celebrated on their special day.
