This January, Greenwin Cares is excited to keep the celebrations going with our Northern Birthday Box Project. We’re sending out our second birthday box of the month to a child in a remote northern community.
Martha, who will be turning 6 tomorrow, January 20, lives in Pond Inlet, Nunavut—a small, predominantly Inuit community in the Qikiqtaaluk Region on northern Baffin Island. For local Inuit, the place “is and always has been Mittimatalik.”
Her birthday box is princess-themed, filled with princess decorations, birthday cake mix, icing, chocolate, candies, and cookies to make her celebration magical.
The Northern Birthday Box Project goes beyond sending gifts—it’s about fostering connection, joy, and community. Even in the most remote locations, children like Martha can feel seen, celebrated, and truly cherished on their special day.
Bringing smiles, one birthday at a time!
