Today we would like to share the story of Sue Costa, Executive Assistant to Kevin Green, President:
I feel valued and I feel like I bring value. That’s all I need to be happy in my role!
I began at Greenwin in 1997 as an administrator for Green Realty, our in-house brokerage. Many people ask why I’ve been with the same company for so long. My answer to them is simple: the people.
The people at Greenwin really care about what’s going on in your life. They treat you like family. Kevin, our President, has seen me through various stages of my life – my wedding, meeting my kids, attending my father’s funeral. He’s been there for it all. He doesn’t care about position or ranking. Kevin will always take the time to introduce me to everyone he deals with, including mayors, premiers and prime ministers... It makes me feel like an equal.
The fundamental core value of Greenwin is family first. As a working mother, there are always situations that come up and never once have I felt that I had to decide between work and the needs of my kids. My first child had recurring ear infections, and I recall apologizing to Kevin for having to leave work early and he said, “Sue, never apologize for being a mom, it’s the hardest job in the world.”
There are always bonding and engaging spirit events at Greenwin – family days, BBQs, volunteer opportunities, and the list goes on. From Kevin’s tireless work with the Israel Tennis and Education Centers in Israel to the revitalization of neighbourhoods at Jane and Finch, it makes me grateful to work with an ownership group that cares and gives back. This is a very special company run by very special people – a true family business.
At the end of the day, I’ve made lifelong friends here; true friends, friends I would trust with my kids – you can’t ask for more than that!
