Greenwin and Reach Toronto have partnered up to help make a difference in the lives of young adults with an autism spectrum disorder.

Reach Toronto is dedicated to helping youth and adults on the spectrum gain skills, tools and strategies to participate more effectively in everyday life. They provide an activity-based learning environment in which they help students become more independent, experience a deeper sense of social inclusion and actualize their abilities.

Last year, Greenwin joined Reach Toronto to offer a March Break Program held at the Greenwin Independent Living Centre at 88 Erskine. The program continues to run!

The program is designed for students 14+ with autism, aspergers and/or a mild intellectual disability who are contemplating independent living (or assisted independent living). Focus will be on teaching students the skills to carry out activities of daily life required for independent living in a residential environment. Students will also acquire the social skills to help them navigate an residential building environment. The program runs in the apartment Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 4:30.
