This past weekend, Greenwin had the opportunity to attend Toronto Police Services 31 Division’s Open House BBQ & Bursary Awards Ceremony alongside Chief of Police James Ramer, Toronto Mayor John Tory, Neighbourhood Community Officers and hundreds of community members. It was an action packed day, as we came together to celebrate all of the amazing work our community officers are doing to strengthen and build up our neighbourhoods for the better.
We are honoured to share that at the event, Superintendent Ronald Khan and Toronto Police Service Civilian Co-Chair for the 31 Division CPLC, Mark Tenaglia awarded Greenwin with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of Greenwin’s support and dedication to the 31 Division Community.
Over the past several years, the presence of NCOs in Toronto’s neigbourhoods has improved relationships and increased levels of trust between police and residents. There has also been an enhanced understanding of the policing needs within these communities.
Ongoing independent evaluation of the program found approximately 90 percent of residents said they feel safer having these officers within their neighbourhoods. It also found residents think NCOs are an important part of the community, seeing them as trustworthy, approachable and professional.
At the event, Greenwin President & CEO, Kevin Green, our Greenwin Cares Team, and our partners at Toronto Police Services had the pleasure of distributing another round of laptops to local youth who had expressed a need through our Laptops for Learning program.
“We are so excited to come together with the TPS 31 Division CPLC and the great people of this community to help support these students on their path to success,” said Kevin Green, President and CEO, Greenwin Corp. “Having a laptop to call their own will give these students the necessary tools they need to get the education they deserve.”
