'Tis the season of giving, and #TeamGreenwin embraced the true spirit of the holidays by giving back to our communities, as we proudly came together with our partners and local organizations to spread some holiday joy!
While volunteering with the Scott Mission, we rolled up our sleeves and dedicated our time to preparing holiday meals and sorting fresh produce for thousands of families and children throughout the city. Through this incredible organization over 1,000 meals are distributed per day during the holiday season.
At our office, we organized a toy drive, rallying our colleagues and raising funds within our communities to purchase gifts for the children and youth in our communities. A hot cocoa and coffee stand was also set up by our Greenwin Cares and Commercial Teams and Yorkville restaurants, Paros Yorkville and Dimmi Trattoria to raise additional funds for the initiative. The collective effort demonstrated the power of community spirit that comes from making a child's holiday season a little brighter.
Partnering with Toronto Community Housing, Durantes No Frills, Toronto Police Services 31 Division, and 12 Division NCOs, we continued our outreach. Together, we distributed turkeys, hams, and potatoes in the Jane and Finch community, ensuring that families could enjoy hearty and festive meals during this special time of the year. It was a collaborative effort that showcased the strength of partnerships in creating positive change.
In addition to our local initiatives, #TeamGreenwin also extended our support to those in Israel and the surrounding region who have been affected by the atrocities waged against innocent people by Hamas. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and we are particularly mindful of the innocent lives lost.
To extend our support, we have made donations to The Association for the Soldiers of Israel - Canada and Brothers for Life. These organizations are doing vital work to provide support and relief to IDF soldiers who have been impacted by Hamas’s terror attacks on Israel.
Our Greenwin Cares team also worked with TPS Promotions & Incentives to deliver 150 boxes of winter clothing, including jackets, to the community members affiliated with Beth Sholom Synagogue, Saint Luke's United Church and Ansaar Foundation.
This holiday season, we are grateful for the opportunity to give back and we look forward to continuing to contribute to creating strong and vibrant communities in the coming year.
