Today we would like to share the story of Cindy, Receptionist:
Helping people brings me joy.
Helping people, whether in person or over the phone, is what brings me joy at work. I take pride in my role, in being able to lend a listening ear and resolve issues. I get to ensure the flow of the office while interacting with different people – residents, clients, contractors, dignitaries, media – every day. Right now, because of Covid, all of my interactions are over the phone, but I look forward to seeing my regular residents again who come in to drop off their rent cheques and say hello.
The pandemic has certainly changed the way we work, but Greenwin is a "family first" business - so although I'm our company's receptionist, I've been fortunate enough to work from home. This has been a tremendous relief for my family as we have gone to great lengths to protect our elderly relatives.
The Green family treats us like one of their own, making our company a very pleasant and relaxed environment to work in. Among the team, there's so much collaboration and an endless willingness to help one another. In 2017, my oldest son was a recipient of the Harold Green Scholarship Program. To celebrate, Greenwin hosted me and my family at Head Office, which made us feel like we were all part of a big family. We will always cherish the memories from that day.
I feel very proud to work for a company that does so much to give back to the community. Specifically, I feel very passionate about the work that we do to support Camp Oochigeas, including the Sporting Life 10k, which helps kids that are affected by childhood cancer. It means so much to me to raise funds for this important cause and many others like it every year.
Over the years, I have loved watching Greenwin grow, adapt, pivot and modernize. When I first started in 1997, everything was on paper! Today looks very different. I've been on the frontlines of the implementation of new technology and new processes that have allowed our entire business to go digital without batting an eye.
If I could describe my experience in one word, it would be that I feel supported and I wouldn't change it for anything.
