On May 5th, the Brampton Board of Trade hosted their annual Business Excellence Awards Gala to recognize outstanding individuals and businesses that are making an impact on the business community and leadership in the City of Brampton. Each year, the Brampton Board of Trade recognizes the best of the best of small, medium and large businesses at this inspiring event.
We are proud to announce that Greenwin was named a finalist for the Environmental Sustainability Award for our proposed mixed-use development in partnership with Sweeny Holdings. We are honoured to be recognized in this category, which highlights companies that are leading the way in the areas of climate and environmental sustainability by making conscious choices in all facets of their businesses — for the betterment of Brampton and beyond.
In addition to checking the boxes for many of the City’s Sustainable Community Development Guidelines including compact form, mixed use and walkability, the proposal also calls for the conservation and restoration of a heritage property, the home of Brampton’s first Mayor, located at 24 Elizabeth Street. The proposal includes a mix of hotel suites, retail space, and multi-family residential units.
It was a pleasure to celebrate so many incredible companies and organizations that are making an impact in the City of Brampton, including Help a Girl Out, which took home the Community Impact Award. We were so inspired by the work this group is doing to address period poverty at home and abroad and look forward to collaborating with their team – led by the incomparable Yanique Brandford – on future initiatives.
