This year’s Earth Day theme is “Invest In Our Planet”, which means truly dedicating our time, energy and resources to challenging climate change and other environmental issues, all in the efforts of protecting our planet. When we work together, we can make sustainable choices that benefit our earth and our future.
There are so many things you can do to support our planet on Earth Day and year-round. Here are 4 ideas to get you started:
- Participate in a community cleanup
Getting involved with your community through cleanups and other activations is a great way to connect with the Earth and with each other. Earth Day 2023 provides resources to help find community events happening near you and gives the opportunity to register your own Earth Day event. - Support an eco-friendly business
This Earth Day, support businesses that have a focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness. Choose products made from recycled materials or support local businesses that focus on sustainability. This is a great way to contribute to the environment while supporting local.
- Eliminate single-use plastics
Join the movement in eliminating single-use plastics. Choose to use reusable shopping bags, straws, and water bottles instead of opting for the disposable options!
- Enter to #winwithgreeenwin!
April is Earth Month, so for this month’s #winwithgreenwin contest, we want to see how you’re using something old and making it new again for a chance to win a $100 gift card. Upcycling is a key part of living a sustainable life. Not only does it reduce the volume of discarded materials, but it also reduces the need for production of new or raw materials and decreases pollution. Snap a picture of what you’re upcycling, and share it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #winwithgreenwin, or email it to info@greenwin.ca by April 30 to enter.
