Greenwin was recently honoured to attend an Industry Awareness Event hosted by LiUNA! Local 183 Training Centre. This experience shed light on the tremendous synergy between our organizations, especially with our collaborative efforts on Make Your Future and the Skills Trade Development Program (STDP). Here's a look at how these ventures align to equip our youth with the necessary skills and opportunities to succeed in the future.
Both Greenwin and LiUNA! Local 183 have a common goal: to provide invaluable training and create meaningful career opportunities for young people. This is not just about skill-building but also about shaping the future of our youth. Through our partnership, we aim to pave the way for meaningful careers for the next generation.
The Make Your Future program offers practical skills and knowledge to young people, preparing them for the challenges of the professional world and connecting them with potential career opportunities. For the past four years, MYF has show attendees available pathways to rewarding career opportunities, inspiring them on their path forward. These learnings are complemented and enhanced by the industry-specific training and development provided by LiUNA! Local 183 Training Centre.
Operated by The Oaks Revitalization Association, STDP empowers justice-involved individuals who face higher barriers of entry and enhances their pathways into meaningful careers. This week, the first group of STDP youth are completing their training at LiUNA! Local 183 Training Centre. This critical training and certification program will open doors to a range of life-changing career opportunities for the individuals in this program. We couldn’t be more proud to see first-hand the progress they have made during their time at LiUNA! Local 183 Training Centre and the life skills they have developed here.
STDP is funded through the Government of Ontario’s Skills Development Fund, which supports innovative ideas for training and skills development to help drive Ontario’s economic growth and build a stronger province. This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
