Greenwin and Sweeny Holdings’ proposed mixed-use development in downtown Brampton has received accolades from the Brampton Environmental Alliance, which referred to the project as “a model of sustainable urban design in Brampton’s downtown core” in a recent article. The development’s convenient location at the corner of Nelson and Elizabeth Street in Brampton, along with its design concept promotes transit-oriented living and enhanced walkability in support of those wanting to live in alignment with One Planet Living principles.

In addition to checking the boxes for many of the City’s Sustainable Community Development Guidelines including compact form, mixed use and walkability, the proposal also calls for the conservation and restoration of a heritage property, the home of Brampton’s first Mayor, located at 24 Elizabeth Street.

The proposal includes 205 hotel suites, 694 sq m of retail space, and 771 long-term rental residential units, 40 of which will be affordable housing.
