As a Construction Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial clarity, compliance, and operational success across multiple construction sites.

What you’ll get to do:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and distribute monthly construction cost reports and financial summaries.
  • Partner with project managers on budget reviews, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Support consolidated financial statement preparation and internal reporting.

Accounting Operations

  • Administer project-specific accounting systems and ensure timely vendor payments and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee expense coding and cost allocations in coordination with project teams.

Draws & Lender Relations

  • Manage and submit monthly draw packages for funding.
  • Serve as a point of contact for lenders, responding to audit requests and compliance documentation.

Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare year-end working papers and support external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls, corporate policies, and regulatory standards.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Liaise with project managers, vendors, and senior leadership on financial matters.
  • Assist with billing reviews, payment tracking, and ad hoc reporting.

Who you are:

  •     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  •     CPA designation or working toward CPA (preferred)
  •     3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a construction or real estate development environment
  •     Strong knowledge of construction accounting, cost tracking, and project budgeting
  •     Proficiency in Excel and accounting platforms like Yardi, Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar
  •     Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
  •     Strong communication and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
