Job Description

Summary:  Under the direction of the Vice President, Finance, the Collections Manager will collaborate with the Company's Operations Directors to perform all activities related to rent collection strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Timely and effective resolution of escalated billing and collection issues
  • Identify all resident past due accounts by analyzing a monthly review of receivable reports
  • Communicate with Revenue Administrators to ensure legal statuses remain up to date
  • Take actions in order to encourage timely payments; prepare and deliver letters to secure payment of overdue accounts
  • Travel to various sites to assist with rent collection
  • Liaise with Sites and Property Managers for contacting residents through mail/telephone in attempt to collect payment for overdue accounts
  • Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress
  • Collate and extract data, producing accurate reports from various sources
  • Travel to various sites to assist with rent collection
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding rent collection
  • Various tasks as required that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

  • Experience within the Property Management sector
  • Strong knowledge of the RTA preferred
  • 5+ years related experience in a Finance or Collections role
  • College Diploma in Business/Office Administration preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in dispute/conflict resolution
  • Must be computer literate with strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Effective time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced/high volume environment
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter
  • Valid driver's license required
