Live Where You Work — Create a Community Residents Love to Call Home
We are seeking a hands-on, service-driven Building Representative to oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential community. As a live-in team member, you will be the primary point of contact for residents, ensure the integrity and upkeep of the property, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. If you’re passionate about property care, resident satisfaction, and operational excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll get to do:
- Act as the primary contact for residents—addressing inquiries, concerns, and emergencies professionally.
- Support leasing by handling inquiries, showing suites, processing applications, and coordinating move-ins/outs.
- Coordinate building maintenance, repairs, and inspections; perform light maintenance (plumbing, electrical, janitorial).
- Liaise with contractors, manage work orders, and ensure all building systems are running smoothly.
- Maintain safety protocols, conduct routine inspections, and support seasonal maintenance (e.g., snow removal, gardening).
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Who You Are:
- Diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications (plumbing, electrical work. HVAC, or building maintenance) are highly desirable.
- 2 to 5 years in building maintenance, property management, or a related field
- Knowledge of resident rights, building codes, and environmental regulations
- Familiarity with fire safety plans and emergency procedures
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all maintenance tasks and inspections are done thoroughly to prevent future issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter who is comfortable “switching gears” and able to switch focus on a whim
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- A valid driver’s license may be required, especially if driving is necessary to carry out maintenance or other duties related to building operations at assigned properties
This position is part of a unionized workforce and is governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
