Job Description

As a hybrid role between operations and technology, the Application Support Specialist will oversee system set-up, configuration and enhancements, data integrity, security, support, user training, reporting, maintenance/updates, and process improvements of our Yardi and Property Vista instances.  Acts as the principal Project and Change Management lead on all Yardi and Property Vista (PV) projects.

What you'll get to do:

  • Project Manages all key initiatives relating to Yardi and Property Vista (PV) systems
  • Act as the technical leader for all aspects of the Yardi Voyager and Elevate system across the organization. Plan, design and implement Yardi solutions that address current and future business needs.
  • Perform special projects related to department training and client support as well as other duties as assigned
  • Document, test, and create or modify computer programs to improve product functionality
  • Create applications and customizations as needed to implement identified customer solutions
  • Meet regularly with each module owner/administrators to take the pulse of the current state of the system and enhancements needed
  • Evaluate procedures and processes for product use and prepare and evaluate alternative workflow solutions
  • Assist and support end users with providing an understanding of Yardi functional design, configuration, and client operational needs
  • Acts as subject matter expert to provide client support and technical issue resolution while possessing the ability to communicate professionally by phone, email, virtually, and provide excellent customer service
  • Assists with Yardi and Property Vista conversions for new property acquisitions and set-ups
  • Participates in coordination of upgrades/patches/enhancements to Yardi and Property Vista software, determining the timing of upgrades, advising on training needs; performing testing
  • Focuses on advanced requests and incidents requiring a deeper level of knowledge
  • Assists with a Yardi and Property Vista training curriculum for end-users, including onboarding training for new hires and follow-up training for corporate and property-based employees.  Will work in collaboration with the onboarding and training team
  • Researches new modules and technical systems by evaluating the needs of the business and partnering with IT leadership, Marketing and property managers to identify ongoing training opportunities
  • Partners with internal departments to create procedure manuals and training materials for Yardi Voyage 7S, Rent Café CRM, Property Vista and all other property management platforms
  • Leverages the appropriate change management processes to make sure changes are fully adopted
  • Performs additional duties or tasks as assigned by the Director, Information Technology

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing system support/training on Yardi Voyager 7S and Property Vista
  • Develop functional specifications and work with technical resources to complete object development, testing and final implementation.
  • Coordinate user requirements and acceptance testing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-family housing industry required
  • Ability to think independently and analytically and make recommendations based on observations
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Project and Change Management methodologies and practices
  • Positive, friendly, and professional attitude with a strong customer service attitude
  • Must have good time management and critical thinking skills
  • Must have a good command of English to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers, potential customers, other employees, vendors, company management, etc.
  • Strong collaboration and teaming skills
  • Possess the ability to influence others and lead a team
