Mississauga Apartments
Mississauga is the most diverse and vibrant suburb of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Port Credit, located at the shoreline where the Credit River meets Lake Ontario, is one of Mississauga’s most desirable and tony neighbourhoods. This area boasts one of the largest marinas along Lake Ontario and most south-facing rental apartments have views of the lake. The neighbourhood has everything a renter could need: shopping, restaurants, galleries, theatres, schools, and parks. Several schools are located in Port Credit, but the area will appeal less to families with young children and more to adult couples and retirees. Port Credit has a GO train station that is located within walking distance of the waterfront and Lakeshore Boulevard and the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) is only 10 minutes north by car. Both provide access to downtown Toronto in less than 30 minutes.
Mississauga is the largest suburb of Toronto in the GTA with approximately 700,000 people. The city has been growing at a strong rate and offers great economic, ethnic, and religious diversity in a true melting pot of cultures. The city’s current diversity reflects its historical origins as an amalgamation of several smaller towns. Several distinct neighbourhoods linger on despite massive urban and suburban development. The city’s centre contains the city hall, Square One, the largest indoor shopping mall in the GTA, the Playdium gaming arena, and numerous high-rise buildings. Many businesses, large and small, operate in Mississauga so workers can take a lunch break from the software company for which they work and get a falafel at the family-owned restaurant next door. The University of Toronto maintains a major sub-campus in the city, while Sheridan College is the largest educational institution in the city. Not surprisingly, the city offers many high schools and elementary schools, under both public and separate school boards. Public transit is provided by the municipal government and the city benefits from four GO train stations. Mississauga is only a short distance from Pearson international airport and Highways 401, 410, 403 and the QEW connect the city to the rest of the GTA and southern Ontario.
