Job Description
Summary: The Regional Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Manager with the upkeep of a portfolio of properties in a variety of areas and adhering/executing to various property and facility management processes.
What you’ll get to do:
- Assist with maintaining a good working order of HVAC systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on building mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment within regulations
- Regularly inspect water softener levels and document the water treatment systems for domestic water and closed loop systems
- Assist and ensure completion with inspecting building fire and life safety equipment and required documentation
- Conduct quarterly fire life safety checks
- Report all onsite mechanical equipment deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager
- Recommend, support and collaborate on process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with Company requirements.
- Update and maintain records systems and department databases including the onsite emergency binders with certificates, permits, etc.
- Assist Maintenance Manager with training team members on the annual in-suite inspection process
- Assist with obtaining quotes from Contractors while following protocols
- Provide general groundskeeping and custodial support when required
- Carry out additional tasks as determined by the Maintenance Manager
Who you are:
- BES II Certification an asset
- Must have access to a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s licence
- 3+ years experience in property/facility maintenance field
- Ability to maintain organization of schedule and files in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb stairs/ ladders, dexterous
- Exhibit initiative with strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
- Work well under pressure with excellent time management
- Flexible, with solid interpersonal and communication skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal regulations and legislation
- Must be available for after-hour emergencies
